Additional scheme rule changes applicable to 2021

After a lengthy application process, we are pleased to announce that the Council for Medical Schemes (CMS) has approved and registered the Scheme Rules with effect from 1 January 2021. Some of the changes that were approved, were not shared with members during the year-end information sessions and/or communication. We have summarised only those changes as follows:

Administrative changes

Previously members were required (according to the Rules) to return old membership cards to the Scheme.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual international health campaign organised by major breast cancer charities. The purpose of the campaign is to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.
